A creative day focusing around calligraphy, wax sealing and paper based craft.

​

You will start the day with a taster in modern calligraphy, then explore wax sealing and learn a whole variety of techniques such as adding botanicals to the wax and marbling wax colours.

 

You will look at mixed media collage - bringing together skills to create handmade stationery, artwork and gift wrapping elements. You will also look at building up layers of collage, using ephemera and creating backgrounds with paint and watercolours. 

 

Every participant will receive a comprehensive kit to take away with the materials to try out their new skills at home. It will include a calligraphy kit, wax sealing supplies plus tags, card blanks and ephemera.

The tutor leading this Workshop is Hannah Donovan of Paper House Design Co, who is an extremely talented artist and calligrapher and has led several modern calligraphy sessions for us in the past.  Hannah now supplies Fortnum and Mason with her unique products, and we are delighted that she has offered to run this Workshop with us. Hannah is patient and will offer plenty of tips so you get the most from the day.

The cost of the ticket includes refreshments on arrival and throughout the day, a seasonal lunch and cakes by award winning Baker, Alix Cakesmith.

The event will be held in a beautiful former Threshing Barn located in an historic walled garden just outside Wimborne in Dorset, with plenty of light and space which overlooks the walled garden.
