Slow Stitching Workshop

image3.jpeg

Friday 17th September

10am - 3.30pm

We are delighted to introduce another Slow Stitching Workshop, where you will be able to immerse yourself in soft vintage French linens and Liberty florals, buttons, lace and ribbons. Learn how to create a Hand Stitched  Fabric Journal or Needle Case, with pockets for threads, scissors, tape, buttons and notions, for sewing on the go.

Our Workshop will be run by Debbie Tobitt, a talented embroiderer and slow stitcher, and former tutor at the Guild of Embroiderers.  Debbie will introduce the art of slow stitching to you, demonstrate stitches, talk you through ideas and help you to choose your fabrics for your journal or needle case.  Each participant will be provided with a pretty bundle of vintage fabrics, including French florals, buttons, lace and trims.

This is perfect for beginners or for those looking to improve their stitching techniques.  You are welcome to bring some of your own fabrics to use if you wish and your own sewing box.

The Workshop fee includes all materials, tuition, refreshments throughout the day and a delicious lunch in the garden if the weather is good.  Delicious cakes will be provided by Alix Cakesmith.

The event will be held in a beautiful former Threshing Barn located in an historic walled garden just outside Wimborne in Dorset, with plenty of light and space which overlooks the walled garden.

Further details, a map and address will be provided in advance of the workshop to those attending.

Cost £125

Please note: Once booked, places are non refundable (unless the place can be reallocated or the event has to be cancelled due to covid guidelines)

The Workshop will be run in a covid safe way with limited places available.
